NCHPAD and Lakeshore Foundation are proud to collaborate on new exercise content for individuals who use power wheelchairs. The Power Wheelchair Exercise Series is a collection of adaptive exercise videos designed specifically for power wheelchair users. Led by NCHPAD Exercise Physiologist John Reams and developed alongside McCartney Hagar and Zach Woolley, these accessible workouts demonstrate practical ways to improve cardiovascular fitness, breathing, posture, balance, and core strength with adaptations for individuals using a power wheelchair. Whether you’re new to exercise or looking to add more movement to your daily routine, these videos provide flexible options that encourage you to move in the way that works best for your body.

Accessibility Best Practices
We want to ensure everyone can easily participate and engage with this great content! Here are some tips to use when promoting the series!
- Image Descriptions: If you’re using one of the images supplied below, provide clear and concise alt text for all images, briefly describing the content and its relevance to the post.
- Clear Communication: Communicate in simple terms, avoiding technical language and jargon. Keep your sentences brief and straightforward for easy understanding.
- Hashtags: Using camel case will help make hashtags more readable (e.g., #HealthAndWellness). This helps screen readers announce them clearly.
- Limit Emojis: Emojis, while enjoyable, should be used in moderation and placed at the end of sentences. Refrain from depending on them to convey your message.
