Sportable creates opportunities and transforms the lives of individuals with physical disabilities, visual impairments, and those requiring physical accommodations through sport, recreation, health, and wellness. Since 2005, Sportable has been Virginia’s leading adaptive sports organization, based in Richmond and serving the greater region as a statewide hub for adaptive recreation and wellness. Through 20+ ongoing programs offered year-round—including wheelchair basketball, adaptive swimming, fitness, mindfulness, and pickleball—Sportable provides a full menu of opportunities for individuals of all abilities, from recreational to competitive levels. Programs are designed to improve access to physical activity and foster social connection with peers in an inclusive, empowering environment. Sportable welcomes direct referrals through Unite Us and follows up with each referred individual to support intake and match them to the most appropriate program opportunities.
