Full Radius Dance
Full Radius Dance is a physically integrated modern dance organization. The term physically integrated defines dance that combines dancers with and without disabilities in the creation, rehearsal, and performance of the work. Our three main programs are the professional dance company, community engagement, and education. The professional company is based in Atlanta, GA. With over thirty years of experience in the field, the company is widely recognized as a pioneer in the art of dance. We employ dancers with and without disabilities in the creation, rehearsal, and performance of the work. Historically, dance training assumes a set of norms, paradigms, and aesthetics applicable only to people without disabilities. Full Radius Dance has created a methodology of rigorous dance training that serves both disabled and non-disabled dancers. The mission of Community Engagement is centering arts accessibility in all communities. Our two main initiatives are The Art of Disability and Dancing in the Community. The Art of Disability leads audiences to experience a gallery or museum through a disability-centric lens. Dancing the Community brings the professional company out of the theatre and into parks, plazas, and playgrounds to activate the space through movement. Educational programming includes classes (both in-person and online), an annual Summer Intensive, and Kindergarten through College lecture demonstrations, workshops, and residencies.
