Adaptive Outdoor Education Center
The Adaptive Outdoor Education Center is a nonprofit with the mission of providing accessible and meaningful education and recreation to disabled people of all ages across the state of Maine. Our two campuses, AOEC Brunswick and AOEC Carrabassett Valley, offer unique experiences year round, including adaptive skiing, sailing, nature exploration and education, and arts and crafts. Our programs revolve around “5 C’s: Competence in recreation, life skills, wilderness skills, and nature education, Confidence to apply skills to challenges in a supportive environment, Connection between people, self, and place, Collaboration with local organizations, and Community of inclusivity.”
