AIM: Adapted for Impaired Mobility is a 12-month lifestyle change program available virtually through NCHPAD. It’s based on the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) and the Group Lifestyle Balance (GLB) curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of adults with mobility limitations.

GLB-AIM (Adapted for Impaired Mobility) DPP is a 12-month virtual lifestyle change program based on the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program and the Group Lifestyle Balance curriculum, tailored for adults with mobility limitations. You’ll experience a full year of evidence-based support to build healthy habits, improve nutrition, increase physical activity safely, and reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.
Guided by trained Lifestyle Coaches and supported by a welcoming online group, you’ll move through structured phases that focus on sustainable lifestyle changes, accountability, and confidence-building at your own pace.

What to Expect in the GLB-AIM Diabetes Prevention Program:
You’ll move through three phases of the program:
- Core Phase: Weekly group sessions that introduce the foundational skills for healthy eating, physical activity, and behavior change.
- Transition Phase: Sessions shift to bi-weekly as you learn to apply these skills more independently.
- Maintenance Phase: Monthly touchpoints help you sustain your progress and stay accountable.
