"Wheelchair Handling: Skills and Drills for Court Sports" explores the dynamics of wheelchair handling and offers useful information to athletes participating in wheelchair sports. It informs readers of the various techniques involved in wheelchair sporting, and also provides insight to how to be more effective in wheelchair sports. Athletes engaging in wheelchair sports must be equipped with knowledge and skills of proper wheelchair handling. For example, an athlete must become proficient in propelling the chair forward and backward, as well as turning, pivoting, tilting, and stopping. This publication also describes the various drill techniques that coaches use to work on athletes' general conditioning as well as wheelchair handling and propulsion.

"The Sport Wheelchair: Set-Up and Maintenance" provides useful information for the wheelchair athlete in purchasing and setting up a custom-fit sport wheelchair. The athlete must take important factors such as user stability, maintenance, and safety into consideration. Most wheelchairs can be adjusted according to customer specifications to maximize use of the wheelchair while keeping the athlete safe. This publication discusses common features and adjustments, including safety mechanisms, maintenance, and tools/equipment.
