Standards & Guidelines for Medical Fitness Center Facilities
Healthy Learning
Monterey, California

The Medical Fitness Association (MFA) recently published this book to serve as an educational resource to help medical fitness centers achieve their missions more effectively, as well as provide appropriate programs and services. The goal of the book is to provide necessary and up-to-date information, protocols, guidelines, and procedures so that these medical fitness centers operate accordingly and successfully. The standards and guidelines are designed to address two specific goals of the MFA:
  • to assist facilities in providing their participants a safe and medically sound experience that focuses on health improvement;
  • to develop collaborative relationships with professional bodies in order to work together to develop parameters that are complimentary and consistent with each other.

The book contains 9 short chapters and 6 detailed appendices, including AED & CPR Training Plan, Sample Job Descriptions, Sample Risk-Management Forms, Sample Area-Specific Usage Guidelines and Policies, and Suggested References.
