From the Editor's Desk: Spring into Physical Activity and Recreation

Spring in nearly upon us, and with it comes the opportunity to head outdoors and engage in healthy, fun activities. To assure that nothing gets in your way, this month we will provide information on how to obtain the newly released AIMFREE (Accessibility Instruments Measuring Fitness and Recreation Environments) Manuals, validated measures that can be used by persons with mobility limitations and professionals to assess the accessibility of recreation and fitness facilities.

Walking is a great way to get out and enjoy the weather, and this month we include a video resource to help individuals with intellectual disabilities engage in walking for fitness.
Do you prefer to walk the green of the golf course? Our NUDGE column highlights UPRIGHT Golf's adaptive golfing equipment, and our Community Voice column presents Leo Goldman, a man who is passionate about both playing adaptive golf and sharing the game with others.

Additionally, March is National Nutrition Month, and our Nutrition Spotlight will give you tips on how to throw out those fad diet books during spring cleaning and make healthy lifestyle choices, 100% fad free. Other monthly features include information on coaching adapted sports, and an Emerging Evidence in Health and Disability column about how inclusive physical activity communities can allow people with vision loss to maintain more independent and enjoyable lives.
