Notes

Therapeutic Riding
Participants use their abilities to learn the actual skills involved in riding a horse. We utilize specially trained horses, volunteers, instructors, and adaptive equipment to encourage participants to be as independent as possible. Riding sessions can include the grooming and tacking of horses, as well as formal riding instruction, games, exercises, and sensory trail rides. We currently offer English style riding lessons with an emphasis in natural horsemanship.

Equine Assisted Therapy, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people who have disabilities by offering innovative equestrian activities. The program is housed at Willow Farm, situated on 40 beautiful acres in scenic Knox County.

Equine Assisted Therapy, Inc. is proud to be associated with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) . Our Therapeutic Riding Instructors and Therapists go through a stringent certification process set-forth by NARHA, which requires annual continuing education, CPR and First Aid training updates.
