Ultimately, it is important for persons with lupus to understand that they are not responsible for their disease, but are responsible for the way they react to it. Their attitudes, feelings, and thoughts have an impact on their health. Focusing on abilities instead of disabilities and viewing themselves as active and responsible instead of victims is a personal choice.
