The subject was a 26-year-old medical student diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 1995. Prior to his diagnosis, he was a college student and participated in basketball, running, and weightlifting. Three months prior to diagnosis, he gradually felt weaker during weightlifting and lost body weight. Similar symptoms continued, as well as the development of unilateral ptosis in both eyes, diplopia, and muscle atrophy. His weight at diagnosis was 85 kg and he had 5% to 6% body fat.
