This instruction manual is provided with the Fitness 1-2-3 Video Series (see this month's Video Review), both developed in order to provide a fun and interactive program to be used by people with disabilities in their homes and/or classrooms to help them achieve and maintain a physically fit and active lifestyle. The instruction manual is meant to complement the videos by providing additional information about the program for the teacher, trainer, or other support person.

The manual contains chapters and information on the health issues associated with lack of physical activity as well as the solution that Fitness 1-2-3 offers. It describes the premise behind using a circuit-training program as well as describing aspects of the program such as resistance tubing and other equipment needs. The manual also discusses overall program goals as well as goals for each individual video. Teacher resources are also provided, including muscle chart and name information, activity and observation logs, student self-evaluations, flash cards, sample lesson plans, and references. Appendices offer information on standards for physical education and adapted physical education both nationally and in California.
