Sailing Programs include:

  • Basic Sailing Class Instruction - This course teaches participants the basic skills to sail from and return to the dock safely. Sailing fundamentals include: boat dynamics and handling; tacking and jibing; sail trimming; reading the weather and the environment; and basic safe boating skills.

  • Intermediate Sailing Class - The goal of this intermediate sailing prepares participants for sailing in a wide variety of conditions while solidifying basic sailing techniques. The course comprises of: advanced sail trim; introduction to racing; anchoring and navigation; day & night sailing; as well as preparing for emergencies. All classes are on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.Instruction.

  • U.S. Sailing Keelboat Certification Program - The goal of this program is to be able to responsibly skipper and crew a simple daysailing keelboat in familiar waters with light to moderate wind and sea conditions.

  • ASA Keelboat and Cruising Certification Program - Learn to sail with confidence. If you have already learned the basics of sailing and would like to receive a certification, here is your chance to get two designations over the weekend; American Sailing Association’s Basic Keelboat (101) and Basic Coastal Cruising Certifications (103).

  • Private Instruction - Individual instruction is available on a reservation basis and is tailored to meet the specific needs and schedule of the student.

  • Racing Programs - The Sail Racing Clinic is a series of classes for those persons who want to develop their racing skills. Periodically, guest speakers and coaches are on hand to teach participants the latest in racing techniques. Topics covered are: racing tactics; starting, mark roundings, advanced sail trim, boat handling, wind and weather, and the racing rules.
