* Children, youth, and adults develop unique bonds with horses, while learning to care for, control the movement of, and listen to horses. Our 45-minute lessons include riding, grooming, and specific goal-oriented activities. We have horses of many shapes, sizes, and personalities to accommodate a wide range of riders, and have mounting ramps, a variety of gear, and a temperature-controlled barn to protect the safety and comfort of our riders and their families. * Program Goals Horseback riding participants will: 1) Gain horseback riding skills, including how to communicate with horses and an understanding of terminology associated with riding 2) Increase muscle tone, postural strength, balance, and sensory regulation skills using the movements of carefully selected horses 3) Boost self-confidence and comfort related to equine activities * 4) Develop relationships with horses, other riders, and/or barn staff Cost Individual lessons are $55 each. Group lessons are $45 each. Financial assistance based on demonstrated need may be available.
