  • RCSN is an independent, not-for-profit citywide source of help for New York City parents and caregivers of children with disabilities or special needs, ages birth to 26, and the professionals who work with them. RCSN is designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a Parent Training and Information Center.

    RCSN provides information and referral, parent support, advocacy services, a workshop series and specialized training, library and information services, directories and publications. We present an annual Special Camp Fair and other special events.

    WHAT RCSN DOES:
    • Locate and help obtain all kinds of programs and services for children, birth to age 21, with disabilities or special needs.
    • Provide accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date information.
    • Provide guidance in selecting a program or service.
    • Explain your rights and entitlements, and how the systems serving children with disabilities and their families work.
    • Serve as an advocate or help you find an advocate.
    • Help you find on-going support.
