Workshop Details

The purpose of the Discover Inclusive Afterschool Health Promotion workshop is to provide you with a general guidance and ideas on how to adapt health promotion programs to be inclusive of children and youth with disability. The workshop will introduce you to the guidebook that includes specific curriculum adaptations for two common evidence-based physical activity and nutrition after school programs. You will also review some handouts, materials and videos to learn more about inclusive practices in afterschool programs and then start to think about your school and goals to complete the activity by writing a paragraph or two or answer some questions on the google form.

We are also looking for a few schools to work with us on implementing some strategies, participate in trainings and utilize these materials in their programs through a pilot program. If you are interested, please email us at email@nchpad.org and let us know you are willing to work with us on the inclusive afterschool pilot project.

If you have questions or need any assistance, please contact us at email@nchpad.org and title the email, "Afterschool Workshop."
