Stories from the Disabled Community


The National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) is interested in sharing your experiences to create and spark social change during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a person with a disability, we invite you to share your reality during this time through video, imagery, or text. Your story will impact policy, advocacy, and social change to include and support the human rights of disabled people.

If you are interested in sharing your experiences consider the following questions:

How is COVID-19 impacting your life based on the following areas?

  • Medication/ Durable Medical Equipment (DME) access

  • Social distancing and Quarantine

What can the COVID-19 pandemic teach society in regards to people with disabilities?

How can everyone be a better ally to people with disabilities right now and in the future?

What resources are you currently utilizing in your community?

When you are ready to share, create and upload a short video, image, or written story to your public Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtag #StoriesSparkSolidarity and tag @NCHPAD. Feel free to also use other important hashtags like #WeAreEssential and #DisabledNotDisposable.
