About Hi! My name is Tammy and I have a varying history of exercise and eating healthy. I have autoimmune diseases including Rheumatoid Arthritis that limits my physical activities. I feel best when my muscles are strong, but it can be a challenge to get and stay there. I also have a nerve pain disorder causing pain in my facial nerves that make eating raw or crunchy foods difficult. I take numerous medications that contribute to weight gain and diabetes. I had bariatric surgery and lost over 140 pounds. I made it even lower than my ideal weight. However, a respiratory infection (that interfered with exercise) asthma and having to increase corticosteroid dose (that increases hunger) made me gain 30 pounds back. My goal is to lose that weight I regained and to increase my muscle. I need to find some healthy new recipes as I get stuck in a rut. I also need to find fun new ways to exercise that do not put repetitive strain on my joints. I hope to connect with people also looking to expand diet and exercise choices. People that we can try out new recipes together and provide each other encouragement.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
