Finding Balance and Passion to Remain Healthy

By: Rebecca Cline

It is safe to say that most of society gets caught up in daily schedules and obligations.  Working, running errands, household chores, homework, social events, sports practices… the list could go on and on.  How does one physically take care of him or herself or even remain mentally stable with such a busy agenda?  Balancing errands and busy schedules while trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle can be extremely challenging.  By prioritizing health, achieving optimal wellness can be both enjoyable and purposeful. Nutrition, exercise, social dynamics, mental health and occupation, to name a few, are all factors that contribute to wellness.  Finding your own personal balance will help you accomplish the positive state of wellness needed in life.  (To learn more about the dimensions of wellness, click here).

How do you find your own personal balance?  Every person is different.  Balance comes from the passion, motivators, and planning that create healthy decisions made day-to-day and throughout our lives.  The following interview is with Michele Colabrese, an Alabama resident, who shares how she manages her busy schedule while still attaining healthy and wholesome choices.  With a passion for promoting nutrition and physical activity to family and friends, Michele incorporates these natural habits into her daily life and emphasizes how important taking care of yourself is for achieving maximum health.
