While there are several different modes and types of exercise, the following may be more appropriate for and beneficial to women who are pregnant:
- Specialized prenatal exercise classes in which instructors are trained to monitor your response to exercise and can share important knowledge; however, instructors may not be knowledgeable about your disability, so always make sure to check with your physician prior to starting a new program
- Cardiovascular training, such as walking, water aerobics or stationary bike
- Strength and endurance training (though, if you have never performed resistance training prior to conception, it is recommended that you begin this activity post-birth)
