Notes

Kayak Camp is a week of skills and thrills on the river. Campers receive instruction in kayaking and explore the inlets and water near Greenwell State Park. Once per day lessons include stroke improvement, safety, and trip planning. We play lots of games on and off the water and learn about the local environment. "Leave No Trace" is included in our responsible paddling lessons.

Participants kayak every day during this camp; however, the length of time is determined by the average skill of the group. We want campers to enjoy the sport, not be discouraged by fatigue during the week.

Campers should wear their swimsuit under their clothing. Each child must bring a water bottle, lunch, closed-toe shoes (water shoes with laces work best), sunscreen, and a complete change of clothing daily. A hat is also helpful while on the water. Extended care before and/or after camp is available for an additional fee.
