Notes

When campers arrive at Camp Wawbeek just north of Wisconsin Dells, they have full access to 400 acres of beautiful woodlands. Within the classic camp setting, campers can boat, fish, hike, climb, swim, play basketball, do crafts, race through obstacle courses and fly through the air on a zipline! Dorms provide comfortable accommodations, and the dining hall is a central meeting spot for more than just meals.

Campers are encouraged to challenge themselves with new experiences and set goals for new accomplishments. There is plenty of fun and time to relax while making new friends and reminiscing with old ones. During the evening, campers can attend dances and special events, perform a little karaoke, join in singing songs and laughing over stories told around a campfire.

Camp Wawbeek has a full-time director and registered nurse living on-site, and one counselor for every three campers. Counselors are highly trained to meet the individual needs of each camper whether thats helping with personal care or acting as a cheerleader as a camper tackles karaoke for the first time! Parents and caregivers can take comfort in knowing that their loved ones needs are being met; giving them the chance to take a break from the daily stresses and take time for themselves.

Outcomes include easier adjustments to new environments, a greater sense of personal satisfaction, and improved personal habits that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Best of all, the friendships formed at camp provide a support and social network that can last a lifetime. At camp, disabilities seem to disappear as campers build confidence and realize just how much they can do.
