The Camp Courageous facility is actually owned by ARC of Lucas County. The camp is operated by Camp Courageous Incorporated, a non-profit 501(c) organization. The camping season runs 11 weeks during June, July, and August. During that season we offer:

  • Overnight camp for children with disabilities (35 campers per week)
  • Separate weeks for adults with disabilites (35 campers per week)
  • Respite weekend for children/families with disabilities who live with parents
  • Future goal: day camp programs for children with and without disabilities

The facilities includes wheelchair-accesible dormitories, remote cabins, activity shelter houses, outdoor chapel, sports field, campfire ring, dining hall, swimming pool, wading pool, and nature trails. In 2000 a brand new play area and swings were erected.
