CCFA Camp Oasis is a co-ed residential camp program that's mission is to enrich the lives of children with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by providing a safe and supportive camp community.

Children with IBD have special needs that "regular" camps aren't equipped to deal with. Some suffer from malnutrition or other complications and are fed through feeding tubes at night. Others struggle with terrible side effects of pills they must take every day. Most kids with IBD feel isolated and self-conscious -- something as simple as changing in a dorm-like environment can be traumatic for a child who has had ostomy surgery and fears revealing their appliance to others.

A week or a weekend at CCFA's Camp Oasis is an unforgettable experience that can change their lives forever. When campers are with other children who have similar medical problems they don't have to be embarrassed. With newfound self-confidence, they can return home and participate more fully in school and with their peers.
