United Martial Arts Centers, Briarcliff Manor, New York, offers a special Taekwondo program, UMAC Champions, for individuals (children 4-adult) with developmental disabilities. Students learn regular Taekwondo curriculum, but in steps that are readily accomplished and the program is designed to give participants not only improved motor skills, but also build self-confidence, courage, and in addition, life skills. Children with physical disabilities are also welcome.
