Notes

We allow the campers to participate in the program according to their ability and choice. Swimming, boating, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, and crafts are just some of the things you can choose to participate in. Showers are offered on an every other day basis unless otherwise needed. Laundry facilities are available for emergencies only. We prepare all food for campers and for staff by bulk.

Facilities

Camp Christopher offers accessible facilities including ramped dormitory style cabins, bunk beds, and one in cabin restroom. The 165 acre outdoor facility includes walkways to and from key areas. Camp Christopher is a camp with rough terrain, lakes, cliffs, and more.

Assessment

Camp Christopher requires that all campers complete the enclosed personal care form and information sheet and return it along with the application and deposit. No one will be registered for camp without the completed paperwork. The goal of our Assessment team is to determine the appropriateness of one to attend our Special Population Camps and the ability to meet that person's needs at camp. Camp Christopher attains the right to deny any individual into Special Population Camps.

Appropriate Programming

Our camp is open to all persons ages 17 and older. If appropriate , persons ages 16 and under will be included in our Resident Camp program. Campers may not register for more than five weeks of Special Population Camp. Our goal is to group campers based on age appropriateness and availability to best serve the camper. Please list your three choices for weeks to attend camp. Our Assessment Team will then assign weeks attempting to honor all requests. Please remember that our main priority is to serve the needs of the camper.

Camp Staff and Supervision

The staff is a qualified and trained group of college students and high school students with either a background or interest in working with people with disabilities. The ratio of campers to staff is 4:1.
