Notes

R.I.D.E.S. (Riding to Improve Development, Esteem, Strength, Spirit) has been established to experience the freedom that only can be provided by a horse trained to provide therapy to people with different disabilities. We are a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). RIDES provides therapy for children, youth, and adults with physical, cognitive, emotional disabilities, and individuals with a diagnosed medical condition. Horses provide the therapy tool for rehabilitation.

R.I.D.E.S. is a non-profit, all volunteer organization and is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt charity. Riders receive at least one hour of therapeutic riding each week. Horses are chosen to meet the specific therapeutic requirements of the riders. Riders range in age from 4 to 54 years old. We are currently serving individuals with the following disabilities:

  • autism
  • Down syndrome
  • cerebral palsy
  • asthma
  • learning disabilities
  • speech and language disorders
