Notes

In July and August, the USARC takes to the fresh waters of Big Bear Lake for wet and wild water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, sailing and fishing. Using a variety of modified and standard recreation equipment, along with a skilled staff of recreation therapists, lifeguards, licensed boat operators and expertly trained volunteers, the excitement and adventure of these sports are safely introduced to each participant.

Summer sessions are either single day or overnight sessions held at accessible campgrounds. Popular overnight camping programs combine two nights of camping fun with a variety of the above water recreation experiences.

An exciting off-road, downhill wheelchair program offers access to back-country terrain and gravity-fed thrills previously available only to mountain bikers. Participants who want to leave the beaten path will feel the freedom of descending through the forest on wide-open fire roads or narrow, twisting trails. Bumps, ruts, rocks, roots and ravines are smoothed by the four-wheel suspension on these "Chariots" while disc brakes provide speed control and sure stops.
