If you need comprehensive rehabilitation, you may be transferred to the Durham Rehabilitation Institute, a state-of-the-art 30-bed facility located on the seventh floor of Durham Regional Hospital. Durham Rehabilitation Institute offers a complete continuum of care, from acute inpatient rehabilitation to individually tailored outpatient programs.

The Wellness Institute

Home to our cardiac rehabilitation program and pulmonary rehabilitation program (known as The Lung School), the Wellness Institute at Durham Regional Hospital is dedicated to improving quality of life for patients with lung and heart disease.

These multidisciplinary programs consist of individualized exercise programs, education, nutritional intervention and psychosocial support. Our dedicated team of healthcare specialists will work with you to tailor the program to your individual needs.
