Hippotherapy literally means therapy with the help of a horse under careful supervision of physical, occupational, speech therapists and prescribed by a physician. The movement of the horse is used to achieve specific goals in a non-clinical setting. Used in Germany since the 1960's therapists in the United States are finding this form of treatment a refreshing and productive means for realizing both short and long-term effects.
