Notes

New Directions Wellness Center is a non-profit health promotion program that includes a fitness facility designed for people who experience activity limitations. There is always an Exercise Physiologist or Clinical Exercise Specialist available for general help or questions and individualized one-on-one assistance. New Directions also offers Physical Therapy and welcomes Medicare and Medicaid. Our Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant will create an individualized workout regimen upon joining and are on hand for continued treatment at any point. As a whole New Directions is here to help monitor the workout and modify the treatment around the client's changing health. Our goal is to facilitate health maintenance and improvement at a pace comfortable for the client.

Clients considered appropriate for our program would include those discharged from their rehabilitation program, or anybody with a physical limitation or chronic illness that could benefit from a supervised exercise program. We offer a friendly and supportive environment that works within the client's needs to improve overall quality of life. We take a holistic approach to disease prevention. Living Well with a Disability is a course we offer that centers on quality of life goal setting, healthy communication, avoiding a depressive lifestyle and other health-related topics. Individual pharmaceutical and nutritional consults are also available to participants of our program, as are on-site physical therapy services. Our equipment is specifically designed to take pressure off the joints and work the muscle groups from either a sitting or standing position and is accessible to users of any ability. A clinical exercise specialist, always available for questions or concerns, supervises the gym.
