Out & About makes a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their family members by providing quality, community-based recreation and leisure services.

We are composed of over twenty staff with specialized training. We provide personal care, direct supervision, behavioral support and offer the individualized assistance that participants in our programs need to successfully engage in activities in their community. The needs of our participants drive both the content of our programs and the process of delivery. Whether you are looking to increase your self-esteem, make friends, learn social skills, or focus on your fine motor skills, Out & About offers the opportunities to make those aspirations a reality.

Out & About is a highly specialized service offering recreational, leisure and learning opportunities to people age 5 and older who want to participate in community-based activities and need adequate support in order to be able to successfully participate. We afford people of all ages the opportunity to get out into their community and experience a variety of classes and activities designed to be fun and enriching. Activities are offered in small groups with a staff to participant ratio of 1:2/3. Individualized services are also available.

Our focus is on what each person is capable of accomplishing. Therapeutic media regularly employed by Out & About includes play, games, sports, physical fitness activities, dance and movement, crafts, expressive arts, outdoor recreation and social activities. The activities that we offer model the therapeutic process by having meaning and value for the participant, being goal directed, encouraging active participation, offering the potential for fun and a sense of personal satisfaction, and offering the opportunity for mastery. As a result, participants gain psychological, physical and social benefits.
