Notes

This year-round sports program offers both adults and youth with disabilities the opportunity to learn and improve sports skills through competition in various sports, through Adaptive Sports and Special Olympics competitions. These programs will provide the opportunity to become more physically fit, socialize with others and increase self-confidence through accomplishment. Youth age 6 years and older can participate in these programs. To participate in Special Olympics Wisconsin competition, however, the individuals must be 8 years or older and have completed a Special Olympics medical.

Special Olympics Program
The MPS Special Olympics program is designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Affiliated with Special Olympics Wisconsin, the program teaches good sportsmanship and responsibility through local, state, national, and international competitions. Student and adult athletes may participate in several activities throughout the year, including swimming, tennis, bocce, track, and more. Athletes must be at least eight years old and apply to the program by completing a medical examination and form. Individuals who do not qualify for Special Olympics are encouraged to explore the Adaptive Sports program.
