Notes

The Good Hope Equestrian Training Center was established in 1999 with a mission of providing people with disabilities with educational, vocational and recreational activities that offer opportunities to increase their independence and quality of life. Using the equine environment as its tool and the 20-acre grounds as its classroom, Good Hope Equestrian Training Center (GHETC) offers unique educational, vocational and recreational programs serving Miami-Dade, Monroe and Broward County residents. The organization's goal is to foster personal growth in each of its clients through participation in equine-related training regardless of their physical, mental, social or financial limitations. Today, GHETC has emerged as the only equestrian facility within the country that serves as a vocational, educational and recreational training center for the disabled. Its primary program, the Adult Day Training, currently serves adults with developmental disabilities ages 21 to 51. Creative programs provide participants with specialized training, including Stable Management, Horsemanship, Functional Academics, Independent Living Skills, Technology, Horticulture and Therapeutic/Recreational Horseback Riding. The Good Hope Equestrian Training Center is a nationally accredited facility through the North American Riding for the Handicapped and a certified provider of Medicaid Waiver.
