Notes

Pegasus Farm established in 1985 in Hartville, Ohio, is a therapeutic equestrian center serving people with disabilities. Pegasus Farm, a non-profit 501(3) organization, exists to provide people with mental/and or physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in therapeutic recreational activities designed to meet their specific needs. Utilizing over 15,000 volunteer hours a year; serving riders with disabilities such as Down Syndrome, spina bifida, intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, et al; Pegasus Farm is proud to be fully accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) which sets safety and quality standards for therapeutic riding nationwide. All instructors at the Farm are NARHA and CHA certified.

Primary activity is to provide individualized therapeutic horseback riding to persons with disabilities, improving their motor, cognitive, perceptual, and social development. Their expanded programming encourages involvement in many activities: annual Ronald McDonald horse show, demos, parades and festivals, Speakers Bureau; giving riders and their families, staff, volunteers, and members of the community the opportunity to interact while working together toward a common goal. They also have added a Girl Scout Badge program and an able-bodied horsemanship course to supplement our income, allowing us to do more for our disabled community.
