Notes

The North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center is an accredited program providing horseback riding to children and adults with a variety of disabilities. Horseback riding offers tremendous benefits to persons with both physical and mental impairments. Our all-volunteer organization utilizes adapted equipment, horse leaders, side-helpers (called side-walkers), certified instructors and therapists. We hold spring and fall sessions. We rely on volunteers from the community to assist with our classes and help with fundraising. We currently hold our group classes and individual therapy sessions (hippotherapy) at 4 sites in Durham and Orange Counties.
