Notes

Special Equestrians is a nonprofit therapeutic riding and driving program for children and adults with physical, mental and emotional disabilities serving Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

It is our mission to provide accessible, high-quality therapeutic equine programs to people with disabilities, and to educate our students, the community and the medical profession on the benefits of therapeutic riding for healing, recreation and well-being.

We believe that individuals, regardless of ability, can significantly enhance their quality of life by participating in equine-assisted activities, and are dedicated to making our programs accessible to anyone who might benefit from them.

Special Equestrians offers a variety of programs to both children and adults with disabilities. These programs include therapeutic riding, hippotherapy, therapeutic driving, and vocational training. Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to maximize the value of each participant's equine experience. Each of our horses has been carefully selected and trained to work in a variety of roles. Special Equestrians staff, horses and volunteers train together to ensure safety and quality in all phases of the program.
