The Wellness Center of WRMC is here to promote and provide medically oriented programs to our community members and industry that encourage and assist them in establishing a healthier lifestyle through rehabilitative, preventative care and industrial services.

The Wellness Center of WRMC is a full service, fully equipped medical fitness center that provides wellness, prevention, exercise and fitness programs. Our highly trained exercise physiologist, fitness and aerobic instructors and personal trainers, will strive to meet your fitness needs. Individuals 14 years and younger, may attend some programs with a physician’s referral.

The Wellness Center Aquatic Classes are offered in the pool at a variety of times throughout the day. Many classes are designed to offer low intensity movements for those that find regular exercise too intense or painful. The classes are provided in water that is kept between 92-94 degrees. All classes provide instruction and supervision from our professionally trained staff. Wellness Center members may participate in any of the programs offered.

  • Arthritis Aquatics
    This program is suggested for individuals with arthritis, fibromyalgia and other chronic diseases. The Arthritis Aquatics Class combines 15 minutes of walking and other low intensity aerobic movements with 30 minutes of upper and lower body range of motion exercises holding to the side of the pool. The class focus is on increasing blood flow and increasing the range of motion from head to toe.

  • Ai Chi
    This program is suggested for individuals with arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic diseases and balance difficulty. The Ai Chi Class is low intensity Tai Chi movement in the aquatic environment. The class focus is on range of motion, balance and breathing.

  • Aqua Stretch
    This program is suggested for individuals with arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic orthopedic diseases. The Aqua Stretch class combines 5 min of water walking, 10 min of non-impact movement in the deep end and 15 min of stretching holding to the wall. The class focus is on increasing blood flow and range of motion in a low impact environment.

  • Water Walking
    This program is suggested for individuals graduating from a physical rehabilitation program. The Water Walking Class allows the individual time to complete their exercise program learned in rehabilitation. The class focus is on continuing their exercise program and transitioning into other aquatic classes.

  • Water Aerobics
    This program is suggested for individuals wanting to stay healthy through aerobic and strength exercise in a low impact setting. Water Aerobics Class combines aerobic movement for 30-40 minutes; followed by 10 minutes of strength and 5 minutes of stretching to cool down. The class focus is on improving cardiovascular function, increasing strength, and range of motion.
