Summer at YMCA Camp Jones Gulch provides an opportunity for youth ages 8-17 to build character, to experience the success of setting and achieving goals, and to develop habits that will promote a lifetime of healthy activities and relationships with others. Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains just minutes from the Pacific Ocean, Camp Jones Gulch provides a pristine forest of redwoods and meadows that can enhance a child's perspective and appreciation of the natural world.

The Camp Jones Gulch Program

Divided into cabin groups by age and gender, campers will learn about the importance of acting responsibly, communicating respectfully, and enjoying the fellowship of others through the avenue of outdoor recreational activities. During the day, campers may be involved in many different activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, arts and crafts, field sports, climbing wall, archery, and basketball. Within these activities, campers will be encouraged to become self-directed and affirm their own abilities while learning new skills.

Special events and theme days will bring together the cabins in large groups. Evenings are spent enjoying games, campfires, overnights or night hikes. Cabin groups spend quiet time before bed, sharing memories of the day or reflecting on lessons learned.
