Nabe (pronounced nah-bee) is a Korean word for butterfly. This metaphor is used to illustrate the transformation one experiences through their grieving journey. From the darkness and isolation of a cocoon emerges a beautiful butterfly ready to spread his/her wings to embrace the world.
This powerful image illustrates all that is beautiful and exciting about Camp Nabe, Hospice of the Chesapeake's special weekend camp for children ages 6-13 who are grieving the death of a loved one. With the support of loving counselors and the compassion and empathy of fellow campers, children at Camp Nabe have a unique opportunity to work through the grief process in a comfortable and nurturing environment.
