Camp Day Break is organized and operated by the Diabetes Center at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This day camp program is held at the Main Street Family Fitness Center in Jackson, Missouri. The camp provides a learning experience in the art of coping with diabetes in the company of other children who face similar challenges each day. A day at Camp Day Break includes crafts, indoor and outdoor group games and diabetes education. The American Diabetes Association provides marketing assistance for this camp.

Children from all over the region are invited. Campers may bring a sibling or friend with them to share the recreation, learning, and fun.

The camp provides a safe learning environment for the development of self-care skills and self-esteem. Registered nurses who are also diabetes educators are included in the day camp staff.
