Notes

RCIF is a completely barrier free baseball field, where athletes with disabilities of all ages compete in team sports year round. The rubberized surface of the field allows players to independently negotiate the infield and outfield with ease. The soon-to-be-built concession stand and family eating areas will also be fully accessible, and restrooms on site will be completely remodeled (currently they are accessible). What is truly remarkable is that this million dollar (plus) facility has been built because of the generosity of selfless people who gave of their time and money.

There has been a long time need for a barrier free playing field in this area. In Sacramento County alone, the total number of youth with special needs is approximately 26,500. 2006 marked the first year for RCIF and there are already six teams (approximately 60 children) using this brand new field. Adults with disabilities use the field for softball games and tournaments.
