Notes

Aquatic therapy is a form of physical or occupational therapy that is conducted in a heated pool. Clients undertake specifically designed exercises in the water that will help them regain strength and restore function.

Aquatic therapy is particularly effective for individuals with physical challenges because movement in water is easier than on land. Warm water combined with the effects of turbulence and buoyancy has many desirable benefits for the client including a reduction of stress on joints, strengthening for muscles, relieving of pain, promotion of relaxation, and an improving of balance and coordination. The facility is proud to have a state of the art aquatic therapy tank. Our tank has a depth of 5 feet and has a moveable floor that will allow it to become flush with the surrounding deck and then lowered to the desired depth. This feature enhances safety so that client transfers can be easily executed and water depth can be adjusted based on specific exercises.
