NMSS Mission Statement:
The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to "end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis".
The Upstate New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society serves more than 8,000 individuals with MS and their families in Upstate New York and supports national MS researchers working to find the cause, treatments, and cure for MS. Services of the Upstate New York Chapter include MS information and education programs, self-help and support groups, peer support, health and fitness, recreation programs, Howitt House - an accessible housing program and the MS Achievement Center at the Park - an adult heath program for people disabled with MS in Rochester, NY. The Chapter has three affiliated clinical facilities - the MS Center at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, the MS Clinic at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, and the MS Clinic at the Center for the Disabled in Albany.
