General Description
    Natchez National Historical Park was established by Congress to preserve and interpret the history of Natchez, Mississippi. The park is composed of three sites: 1) Melrose, the antebellum home of John T. McMurran, 2) the downtown home of African American barber and diarist William Johnson, and 3)the French Fort Rosalie. Currently only Melrose and the William Johnson House are open to visitors. In addition, the Natchez Visitor Center houses one of the park''s bookstores and National Park exhibits which focus on the history of Natchez and its people.
