General Description
Burton Park is the oldest and best known of our developed parks. The central location and diversity of activities help to draw a wide spectrum of users and is heavy utilized year-round. It currently contains Madsen softball diamond, Flanagan baseball field, a large soccer field, three tennis courts, two full basketball courts, a tennis practice court, two horseshoe pits, the Kiwanis Recreation Building, two childrens play areas (one completely fence-enclosed and each with a play structure, slide, and swings), park benches, picnic tables, barbecue pits, and a turfed play area. The park has extensive landscaping throughout, including a number of mature trees.

October 2008, Burton Park Playground re-opened as an inclusive playground: New Inclusive Play Areas! Over 70% of the play area at Burton Park Playgrounds can be accessed by all children, regardless of physical abilities.

New native plant landscaping added to the play areas!

New water play areas! Water features have been added to the sand play areas and a new water spray play area will be active during the Spring, Summer and Fall months.
