General Description

Jonathan\\\\\\''s Dream is an intergenerational inclusive playground that is open to the public on the campus of the Mandell JCC in West Hartford, CT. Jonathan\\\\\\''s Dream features ramps and bridges that take every child, regardless of ability or disability to the tree house, the performing stage, the puppet theater, the music play area, a four car train, a Boundless playhouse with raised sand tables, a glider boat swing and a post office play area. Design and community build support for this playground was provided by Learning Structures of New Hampshire. This playgounds was built in memory of a little boy named Jonathan who would have needed a wheelchair if he\\\\\\''d had a chance to grow up. Jonathan\\\\\\''s Dream and Jonathan are the inspiration for Boundless Playgrounds, which is now the first national nonprofit dedicated to helping communities create inclusive playgrounds for their children of all abilities.
