General Description

Brighton Recreation Area provides nearly 5000 acres of recreation for park visitors to use. The park consists of 2 day use area at Bishop Lake and Chilson Pond, 2 rustic campgrounds at Murray Lake and Appleton Lake, a rustic equestrian campground and a modern campground located on Bishop Lake. The park has a full service equestrian facility along with 18 miles of bridal trails. Seven miles of hiking and 14 miles of mountain biking completes the parks trail systems. The park has 5 rustic cabins available for overnight lodging that sleep between 8 and 20. Several lakes with boat launches and an accessible fishing pier provide anglers with opportunities to enjoy their sport. The park is also open to hunting and trapping in season.
