General Description
    In 1855, on this site, Issac Stevens negotiated the Hellgate Treaty between the U. S. government and the Salish, Kootenai, and Pend d�Orielle Indians to create the Flathead Reservation. Come enjoy the natural features and solitude of this day-use-only park for reflection on these historical events.

    Council Grove State Park is located on the Clark Fork River at river mile 203. Kelly Island is the next access site up stream from Council Grove. Deep Creek is the next site down stream from Council Grove. Council Grove is one of 23 FWP managed sites on the Clark Fork River.
