General Description
    Fort Pillow State Historic Park is mostly based on the battle that took place during April 12th, 1864. Confederate soldiers built the fort in 1861 which is still present. On April 12th, 1864, Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest brought his troops to Fort Pillow and defeated the Union Troops occupying the fort.
